New year new mindset. GOODBYE, 2020! This year been the year that tops all other years. Everything with Covid and the economy shutting down has made us deal with so much change in such a short amount of time.

We as humans do not deal with change very well. But that change has taught us that we are resilient. That we can face and handle anything that is thrown at us.

New Mindset

For so much of my life, I have lived for myself. But becoming a mom has taught me that it is not all about me. That I have two little guys who depend on me and look up to me.

I want them to grow up and have so many wonderful memories even if some of them include this crazy year. I want those memories to be filled with adventure and chaos and love.

So, what can I do to provide them a better life? I can be a better me!

A better me consists of waking up each day and starting it out on the right foot. Whatever that may be. For some, it is meditating, or journaling and for others, it is a good cup of coffee and stillness

It is so easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of it all, and sometimes it is just smart to slow down. The economy being shut down has made it easier to slow life down and enjoy it a little more.

For so many people, they have a negative mindset and when you only think and see negativity, then your life will be filled with said negativity.

Instead, when we are faced with a difficult situation we need to find a positive aspect of it. Just like the saying “the cup is half full”. If you visualize something good happening most likely it will happen. Or you are so focused on the good that you can ignore the bad.

What can you do within the new year to have a better mindset?

  1. Set some goals- Whatever it is that you want to accomplish, set some goals to work towards. Whether it is losing weight, or creating a habit, have something written down to work to and accomplish. And if you feel creative, create a board to hang in your office or somewhere that you will see it every day.
  2. Find a routine- We are creatures of habit and like to have a routine to keep our lives in order. Create a routine that works best for you and will help with your positive outlook on life.
  3. Do things that you love- Life can be stressful. Between a job and everyday life, we can feel overwhelmed. Take some time to relax, whether it is a vacation or just a getaway, do something that you can unwind and destress.
  4. Look back- It is great to look back to see how far we have come. Even in a crazy year of unknowns we can look back and see that we made it through and will continue to make it through. Look back on the progress and make some tweaks for the new year to see what you can do better.

Whatever you have planned for the New Year, I hope it is amazing. Whatever goals you have set, I hope you reach them. With a better mindset and outlook, we can all have a better year. New year new mindset.
