Laundry room refresh. I may be an oddball but I enjoy laundry. Washing and drying and making all those dirty clothes smell good. But my favorite part is folding the clothes, especially my sons’ clothes. I find it quite relaxing folding cute little outfits.

But I know plenty of people who despise laundry day. It seems to be a never-ending job and always piles up if we do not keep up with it. But what can help push you to do something that you are may be avoiding?
A nice, fresh, beautiful room where you will want to spend time in and complete some loads of laundry.
We have lived in our current home for two and a half years. That room was begging for some love. So, we decided to make it more welcoming.

Before the Refresh

We decided to add some extra shelves because where are you suppose to put your laundry baskets or possibly fold your clothes? My husband enjoyed using his torch to burn the shelves and give them a natural look.
Our pups spend a good bit of time in the laundry room so of course, the walls needed a fresh coat of paint.
I wanted to go with something brighter, so we picked a light green to replace the tan. I associate green with life, nature, and energy. Such a great color to add to a “blah” room.
We also wanted to add a feature to the room so we did board and batten on the sidewall. Decided to paint the board and batten white to help contrast with the green and make the room brighter.
After

We have created a room that makes doing laundry a little bit easier.

If I had a laundry room as pretty as this one, I’d enjoy laundry too! I love the feature wall you added and the green paint color. Really brightens the room up! Also, I adore that shelving, such a cool look!

I am definitely one of those that despises laundry day. Landry is weeklong event in our house. I might actually enjoy it more if my room was a cute as this one though!

Sames, and it seems as soon as you get caught up on it. There is another pile again.

What an amazing transformation! Your eye for aesthetics is very impressive. The soft colors of the room mesh well with the wood grain stain of the shelves.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

It turned out so cute! I keep telling myself I need to address my laundry room. My laundry room is a hallway to one of the bedrooms so I am a little curious as to how I can make it work but yours is so cute and gave me a few ideas.
